YouTube Money Calculator
Every YouTube earnings estimate is views divided by 1,000 times RPM, so the only number that decides whether it is right is the RPM, and yours is already in Studio.

Work out your RPM
RPM is revenue per 1,000 views. Copy the estimated revenue and the views for the same period from YouTube Studio and the calculator divides them for you.
How much money will my YouTube channel make?
A YouTube money calculator multiplies your views by your RPM. RPM is YouTube's own figure for your total revenue, after YouTube's share, per 1,000 views, and it counts ads alongside channel memberships, YouTube Premium revenue, Super Chat and Super Stickers. So 100,000 views at an RPM of 2.40 is 100 × 2.40, or 240 a month. The arithmetic is the easy part; the RPM is the part every calculator has to get from somewhere.
How to estimate your YouTube earnings
- Find your RPM. Open YouTube Studio, go to Analytics and the Revenue tab, and read the RPM for a recent period. If you only see revenue and views, enter both in the Work out your RPM panel and the calculator divides them.
- Enter your monthly views. Use a typical month rather than your best one. Plain numbers, commas or shorthand such as 120k all work.
- Keep Shorts separate. Shorts are paid from a different pool from long-form videos, so their RPM can be very different. Enter Shorts views and their own RPM in the Shorts fields rather than adding them to your long-form total.
- Set a target. Enter the monthly income you are aiming for and the calculator shows how many views you would need at each RPM.
Why most YouTube money calculators are wrong
Most of the calculators that rank for this phrase supply the RPM for you, from a niche table or a slider set to a range, so their answer is only as good as a number that has nothing to do with your channel. Some go further and take YouTube's share off a figure that is already net of it, which counts the cut twice. This calculator asks for your RPM and deducts nothing from it, because RPM is already what you keep. It has no built-in rates to be out of date, and it keeps long-form and Shorts apart so a high Shorts view count cannot inflate a long-form estimate.
The estimate covers only revenue YouTube reports in Studio. Sponsorships, affiliate links and merchandise are separate, and a channel outside the YouTube Partner Programme earns no ad revenue at all. For how the RPM itself is made, read how much YouTube pays per 1,000 views, and check the monetisation requirements if you are not in the programme yet. More views at the same RPM comes down to more clicks, and that starts with the thumbnail: preview yours at feed size or generate a new one.

Frequently asked questions
How is YouTube income calculated?
Views divided by 1,000, multiplied by your RPM. RPM is your revenue per 1,000 views after YouTube's share has been taken, so 50,000 views at a 3.00 RPM is 50 × 3.00, or 150, with nothing further deducted.
Where do I find my RPM on YouTube?
In YouTube Studio, under Analytics and the Revenue tab. If you would rather work it out, divide the estimated revenue for a period by the views in the same period and multiply by 1,000; the Work out your RPM panel here does exactly that.
What is the difference between RPM and CPM on YouTube?
RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views; CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. CPM is measured before YouTube's share and only counts impressions where an ad ran, while RPM is after YouTube's share and counts every view, so RPM is the one to use for your own earnings.
How many views do I need to make 1,000 a month on YouTube?
1,000 divided by your RPM, times 1,000. At an RPM of 2.00 that is 500,000 views a month; at 5.00 it is 200,000. Enter your own RPM and a target in the calculator to get your figure for long-form and Shorts separately.
Is my channel data uploaded anywhere?
No. Every number you type is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. The calculator does not connect to YouTube or your account, which is why it asks you to enter your RPM.
