Getting started

Your account and settings

A short screen, but the difference between account data and browser data is worth knowing.

Your account

Thumblore accounts are keyed to your email address. Signing in at app.thumblore.com is what separates the product from the marketing site — everything at app.thumblore.com is your workspace, and everything at www.thumblore.com (including these help pages) is public.

Your email is shown, read-only, at the top of Settings. It is the identity the account is tied to, so it cannot be edited in place.

Display name

Set a display name in Settings if you want the app to greet you by something other than your email address. It is stored in your browser, so it is per-device — set it again on a second machine if you want it there too. It never appears on a thumbnail.

The watermark switch

Settings holds one switch that affects your exports: whether downloads carry the Thumblore badge.

  • On Free, the switch is locked on. Free exports are watermarked as a rule, not a default.
  • On any paid plan, exports are clean by default and the switch lets you deliberately turn the badge back on — some creators do, for brand consistency across a channel that started free.

Full detail, including where the badge sits and how it is drawn, is in removing the watermark.

Preferences are per-browser

The display name and the watermark choice live in your browser's local storage, not on your account. Clearing site data resets them. Your avatars, thumbnails, projects, credits and plan are all stored server-side and are unaffected.

Signing out and switching accounts

Sign out from Settings. Because preferences are per-browser rather than per-account, signing into a second account on the same browser inherits whatever display name and watermark preference that browser already had — worth knowing if you manage more than one brand.

Deleting things

Avatars are deleted from the Avatars screen or the Saved characters dialog. Deleting a face does not alter thumbnails you already generated with it — those images are finished pixels, not live references. If you need an account deleted entirely, contact us and we will action it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my email address?

The email is the identity the account is keyed to, so it is shown read-only. Contact us if you need it changed.

Why did my display name disappear?

The display name and watermark preference are stored in your browser, not on your account. Clearing site data or switching browsers resets them. Your avatars, thumbnails and credits are unaffected.

Does deleting an avatar change thumbnails I already made?

No. Generated thumbnails are finished images, not live references to the avatar.
